Les Inouis

"Migrants are modern-day heroes" (Fabrizio Gatti in 'Bilal: My undercover journey into the modern slave-trade')

Les Inouis gives a voice to those who usually have nothing but their image on a screen: migrants.

Five artists from different backgrounds tell the tragic story of a migrant’s deafening silence. They tell about his dreams of freedom, washed up on the shores of a “free” country.

Just as the wolf in a fairytale, the Other is a reality one can’t put aside in the context of a complex and manipulated world.

In his new creation, between documentary and fantasy, between reality and virtual world, Patrick Masset sheds light on the relation between the image (video), our connected world and an ancestral art called “theatre”.

This disturbing performance makes us wonder about the origins and the limits of the “Human”, thus helping us think about our unique relation to the others and our attitude towards differences.

'A number of truly striking images stay with you long after the show, leaving you intrigued by the symbolism of it all. At turns gentle, athletic and bloody, this is the true frontier where circus and theatre meets.'
Fest
'there is a wistful charm and a poetic sensibility to how this harrowing tale is presented. the brutality meted out to the hapless migrant gains in savagery when the blows bludgeon a defenceless puppet.'
